Earth Day Cleanup of Farrows Run

earth day

We couldn’t have asked for a better day to Clean the Stream! The sun was shining. Birds were chirping. Spring was in the air!

The B.A.R. and Gloucester Township Rotary held this cleanup of Farrows Run between Meadows Diner and Blackwood Liquors. It was a success! We were able to clean up a dumpsters worth of trash from one of the township waterways. There were 19 people volunteering their time and resources for this cause and we would like to thank each and every one of them! Everyone did an amazing job!

The day started with an amazing breakfast donated by Meadows Diner. Thank you so much for your generosity and hospitality!

We had several students from Highland and Timber Creek High school attend. Brian Burns gave a speech teaching everyone about rain water and the impact on our environment and drinking water. Complete with hand outs to go along with the lesson for this younger generation. Thank you Brian for everything you do in the town and preserving open space for the future.

Township Support

Special Thanks to Mayor Mayer, Mr. Cardis and to Public Works Department for the support from the township! We were blessed with two gentleman (Brian and Mike). They not only provided trash cans and bags along with grabbers for trash and gloves, but with hard work as well. These guys work hard every day keeping our parks and other areas clean and trash free. Thank you for all your help and support!
